Legendary West Indies opener Chris Gayle has made a significant revelation regarding his experience in the IPL. He shared the truth and the pain he endured during his time with the Punjab Kings franchise. Gayle expressed that he felt disrespected by the Punjab Kings, stating that he was treated like a child. He also mentioned KL Rahul and Anil Kumble, who were the captain and head coach at that time.

In a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, Chris Gayle revealed that his IPL season with Punjab Kings ended prematurely. He felt that he was not given the respect he deserved as a senior player who had contributed significantly to the league. Gayle mentioned that he was treated like a child, and for the first time in his life, he felt he was slipping into depression. He recalled a moment when he cried while speaking to Anil Kumble, expressing his disappointment with both Kumble and the franchise's management. KL Rahul even called him to say that he would play in the next match, but Gayle decided to pack his bags and leave instead.

Besides Punjab Kings, Chris has also played for KKR and RCB in the IPL. Over his career in the league, he has participated in 142 matches, scoring a total of 4,965 runs in 141 innings. His highest score stands at 175, with 6 centuries and 31 half-centuries to his name. He made his IPL debut in 2008 and played his last match in 2021.
